• Rodney Abernathy
    General Manager

    Rodney Abernathy has worked at Modern since 1993 and now serves as General Manager at Modern Nissan.  Rodney oversees all departments in the Modern Nissan dealership, to ensure all business and customer needs are met.  He loves working at Modern Nissan because it is a family-owned business with a family atmosphere and loyal employees.
    Rodney has one son, Christopher, and enjoys listening to music, gardening, and golf.  Speaking of golf, Rodney once met Arnold Palmer while attending the Vantage Golf tournament in the mid-80's.  Rodney can be found enjoying downtown Winston Salem restaurants, as well as his favorite filet mignon at Ryan's Steakhouse.

    Lewis is one of several fourth-generation Fowlers who have gone into the family business.  Born and raised right here in Winston-Salem, he came on as a full-time employee in 2007 after working various part-time jobs in the dealerships since he was 14.  Now as General Sales Manager of our Winston-Salem Nissan store, Lewis oversees the sales staff and ensures every customer gets that Fowler family commitment to complete satisfaction. Lewis and his wife Biby have three girls, Lily, Emily & Kate and they love to attend Wake Forest football games.

    Since 1998 Eddie Hernandez has been a dedicated Modern Nissan employee.  Starting out as a sales consultant, Eddie is now a Sales Manager at Modern Nissan.  He is responsible for daily activities in the sales department and ensuring that customers have an enjoyable experience.
    Eddie and his wife Dawn live in Kernersville with their children and their Jack Russell Terrier, Tootsie.  Eddie is a Renaissance man who cans vegetables he grows in his garden at home.  And enjoys outings with his family, activities at his church, and deep sea fishing.  Eddie also brags that there is no food better than his wife's chicken and dumplings.

    Hannah Comer has been a Sales and Leasing Consultant at Modern Nissan since 2013. Hannah loves seeing the excitement in her customers as they are purchasing a new vehicle. 

    Hannah and her husband Josh live with their daughter Harper and micro-miniature Dachshund, Bandit in Lexington. Hannah loves riding her motorcycle, working out at the gym, and cooking and baking. She also revels in searching for the perfect fajita, and her favorite activity to do in Winston-Salem is shopping! Hannah's trip to Disney World was her best vacation but she says riding her motorcycle to the beach for the first time is a close second.

He has been with the Modern Family since 2009 and "The family atmosphere and great ownership" quoted Miguel, makes working at Modern a blast! Miguel, his wife Heather, their two sons and family dog, Bentley, live in Winston-Salem and love going on family outings. On days off, you will likely find Miguel spending as much time as possible with friends and family, fishing and planning the next epic family vacation!

    Few have Steve Tuttle beat in the longevity department at Modern Nissan; he has been with the company since 1976!  Steve is currently the New Car Inventory Manager and enjoys working for a dealer with such a great reputation.
    One of Steve's favorite things to do in the area is to try out all the great new restaurants.  He enjoys spending time with his wife Betty, his children, and his Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Cody.  He also makes time for hunting, fishing, and playing golf.  Steve loves to travel and notes Switzerland and Australia as some of his favorite and furthest destinations.  Steve is always on the hunt for some good Southern Fried Chicken!

    Did Ned Hicks love of NASCAR lead him to a job at Modern Nissan or did his job at Modern lead him to love NASCAR?  We may never know.  Ned is the Used Car Inventory Manager and has been at the dealership since 1996.  Most of all he loves his co-workers.
    Ned and his wife Sue have two children.  Besides NASCAR races, he also enjoys watching college basketball, eating seafood, and dining at Ryan's.  Maybe the seafood was why his favorite vacation ever was to Alaska.

    Cindi has a Southern accent so you would never guess she's originally from Ohio.  She now lives in Pilot Mountain with her husband, Danny, and their Rottweiler, Colt. She says her favorite past-time is spending time with them.  She also enjoys cheering on the Chicago Bears and dining at her favorite local restaurant, The Depot.

    Chris Wilson is an Internet Sales Specialist at Modern Nissan of Winston-Salem and has been with the Modern Family since 2012. Chris, his wife, Allison, and their German Shepard, Callie, are local to the Winston-Salem area and they love exploring the city and learning about the rich history that Winston-Salem offers.  A world traveler, Chris has been to England, Scotland and Ireland, where he even met Bono in a Dublin Pub. Another fun fact about Chris, he was a competitive swimmer (since the age of 4) and even coached swimming throughout college.  In between traveling, you'll likely find Chris watching auto racing at his favorite restaurant, Firebirds.

    John has one son, Johnny, and lives in Kernersville.  John is an avid photographer in his spare time, and two of his favorite things to do in Winston-Salem are jumping going to Airbound Trampoline Park and relaxing at Village Tavern. John loves to watch his favorite sports team, the Buffalo Sabres, while enjoying a good slice of pizza.

    Mercy Ramirez-Mitchell Newsom says she never imagined selling cars could be so much fun!  Mercy has been a Sales and Leasing Consultant at Modern Nissan since 2013.  Mercy says she truly enjoys everything about working at Modern.
    Although she tries to get to Texas every chance she gets to see her three adult sons and her three grandchildren Brandon, Kayla, and Jamie, when at home in North Carolina, Mercy enjoys Zumba dancing and eating Latin food.  One of Mercy's favorite local spots is Nacho Daddy's.
